Join us in calling for West Lothian Council to publish the draft 2020-2025 Climate Change Strategy. The previous Climate Change Strategy for 2015-2020 is out of date, and the climate emergency needs action now. This is not business as usual, and West Lothian deserves urgent action.
There is so much that can be done. Liberal Democrats call for:
- West Lothian Council to work towards carbon neutrality and climate resilience by 2030
- Establish wildflower planting, habitat creation and tree planting pilots to showcase the possibilities, benefits and opportunities that such schemes can have to pollinators, wider biodiversity, carbon sequestration, health and wellbeing of residents, and land management costs and practices.
- Establish major tree planting and woodland creation schemes
- Support local communities with grant funding to create green spaces
We need the draft strategy now, so that voters can have their voices heard.
